Is compass info displayed by default?

I searched but was unable to come up with anything, so hopefully someone knows... Every time I turn on the ignition, my display shows compass info and I have to hit the reset button twice (on the bottom of the wiper control) to display MPG's, outside temp, etc. Is this default and is there a way to change this?

Yes, go into the navigation controls (under setup) then uncheck the "compass" display.
