I am currently running a stratmosphere hypershift short throw and it is not short enough for me, I would like some advice and tips on everyone else's.

Name your brand and how you like it and some pics.

do you have it set for 20% reduction or 40%? i belive 40% is one of the sortest out there. if your talking about height, hack that thing shorter and buy a momo knob, or have it threaded.

Are you serios? I used to have a b&m, it was total junk. You don't know what your missing, you need a jhm.

The throw reduction is limited to how much room there is in the shifter box, and there is only so much room. If the JHM shifter was any longer on the bottom it would rub. In order to get a even shorter throw (not just shortening the shaft) you have to space up the plastic base...

The shorter you go on the reduction the harder it is to put the car in gear. The leverage is not in your favor. You have the short end of the stick because the point of pivot is shifted higher.

I'm thinking of hacking mine down, although i do want to keep the stock knob i like it alot. Not too much at first due to that leverage principle. Like the rabbi says, "you can always cut more off."

Why don't you guys like the B&M??

I guess I'm accustomed to it.. I've had B&M shifters in 2 of my previous 6 speed supras and loved it. I do want to get the JHM one though, and the linkage upgrade. In due time I guess

I love the stock shifter. It's all loose and sloppy, but I can plow through gears.

    Re: Shortest Throw shifters---Pics

The best concept for a "short" shifter is actually to have one that's stock height, or higher. Upgrading bearings and linkage should be good enough, but if you actually want something worth-while, you'd probably be better off actually getting an extension for the shifter. The more time your right hand is off the steering wheel, the less control you have of your vehicle. Increasing the length below the pivot point and increasing the length of the shifter itself will keep the same throw ratio yet slightly decrease shift times.

Yes, the throw is alot shorter, but it is notchy as hell and even sloppier than the stock shifter. The JHM SS actually reduces the slop w/ the same shortness of throw as our shitty B&M
