Replaced Axle, still clicks

I am leaving for a 200mile drive to Dubs at the Beach in a few hours and for the last week my axle has had a click in the outter DS C/V joint.

I Rasied the car and it didnt help, the axle is firm in there with minimal play rotationally or in and out. Only clicks when power is applied and does not click when wheel is turned to lock. 2 mechanics could not figure it out.

DS axle was just replaced due to a bad CV joint. New axle has about 50 miles on it and has clicked since the day it was installed.

I am confused why it only makes noise under load and why it doesn't click at lock.

defective replacement axle. did the old axle have the same issues?

^^u sure i changed both of mine and still the same!

is it a constant noise? or only when you step on the gas? mine does it as soon as i step on the gas. only for a second like bearings bumping together. i jack up my car and move the wheel back and forth and it makes the noise. it sounds like it coming from the inner part of the front axle where it bolts to the tranny
