    0089 Fuel pressure regulator performance

Just putting this in the archive for someone to find on a search some day. I through this code the other day. I can't say it was in response to anything specific I had done. I have exhaust, air filter, forge DV and RS4 rear sway bar for mods. I am not chipped.

I email my service advisor asking if this was okay to drive through the holiday weekend. She got back to me promptly and said I should bring it in, and could I get it to the dealership that day (friday before memorial weekend). I took the car in, knowing that there is a TSB about cam lobe where I asked them to look into this if there were going to be poking around in this area.

It turns out the TSB deals with physical wear but also the fuel pressure sensor. In my case there was no wear but the sensor had gone bad and resulted in throwing the CEL. They fixed it in a couple hours under warranty and I had a great holiday weekend. All ended well and audi took great care of me as usual. Hopefully if someone else throws this CEL and comes looking they will find this helpful.

that code sure sounds familiar. they will diagnose, find and replace faulty low fuel pressure sensor, and remove + reinstall the fuel pressure sender. covered under warranty. noffy, you must have a cool dealership if they did it for you under warranty cuz i would think that all of your mods would give them an excuse to charge ya.

Well no question I have a great dealer, but I don't think I really have a lot of related mods. Exhuast and intake are really the only engine ones. Those are pretty tame as well. I don't have anything affecting boost or fuel. They did ask if I was chipped so they may have thought about going that way. But I like my warranty to much to endanger it that much for just a few more Horsepower. They have done a few other minor repairs as well and I have not had any troubles. My service advisor is really nice and does a great job of taking care of me.

I have had the cam lobe wear issue, pcv valve, fuel sensor, and others. This page helped me a bunch! http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/...ry:Fault_Codes

I don't get it... this should be covered under the TSB... regardless of your warranty or not. Have you guys not tried to bring an audi that wasn't covered under warranty anymore, but AUDI still has to cover the expenses to change the cams

I think you're thinking of a recall... TSB's aren't generally covered by AoA when you're out of warranty. A technical service bulletin is just a common issue noted by AoA, paired with the corresponding solution.

I have called Audi of America. They had my car checked at a local dealer but they came back telling me that it was an electrical problem. I declined services, replace the cam Fowler myself and the car worked fine for 15,000. I have the same problem again. I replaced it again but i still have the problem with the car it did not get fixed this time.
