CEL from rev limiter?

I'm chipped with apr 93. I was doing somewhere around 6k rpms, maybe more, and the cel came on. Is it possible to exceed the rev limit with a chipped AT car?
If not, Im thinking possible pcv, but I don't feel like i've lost any boost. I do have some oil leak around the cap. Ideas?

Sounds like PCV to me.

try taking the oil cap off w/ the car running. if it's really tough to remove then its the breather. you might also notice a high pitched whine coming from the engine the more you drive it. good luck

I took mine in yesterday for the CEL coming on. I asked them to check the PCV and the DV. They told me my DV was cracked and replaced it. I had the whistling sound coming from the engine at about 4000RPM's. It wasnt whistling after they replaced the DV...for a couple hours. Then the whistle came back. I have a forged DV on order for next week sometime.

I know it's not the dv, it still holds the same amount of boost. Has anyone ever heard of the rev limiter being exceeded on a chipped auto?

I realize it's probably pcv, just wondering if there's any accounts of this happening.

Do they replace the PCV if its whats wrong, how does the repair on that work?
