Interested in RS6 Wood Trim? (This weekend only)

I just picked up a set of RS6 wood trim. Absolutely beautiful. I thought I'd offer it up here for the weekend. PM me for details if you are interested. Fitment is for Facelift C5 cars with TIP only. That's 2002 to 2004 A6/S6/allroad with TIP.

Also, can anyone confirm that this particular type of trim is exclusive to the S6/RS6? Thanks!

Ahh, good call, I wasn't even paying attention :/

Any idea of where to get C5 trim besides junk yard/used? I did some searching around but didn't come up with anything worth while. I've seen the matte black painted trim also, I might try that if I can't find anything besides walnut/CF.

Pretty much your only option if you want an OEM replacement. I can usually get used sets for $75-100, but obviously the more rare colors/styles are worth a bit more.

I have no idea. You'll have to call some dismantlers to see if they have any and how much they want for it. I only buy the cheap sets.

I was really hoping a vendor had the more greyish S6/RS6 trim to purchase new. There's some great ideas floating around involving the trim though, hate to have to copy them: i.e. flat black, or like Frank did with turning the stock A6 trim matte.

Haven't found any pics of brushed aluminum in a C5 yet- I'd love to see that, though I haven't looked very hard anyway.

Frank just used a 3m vinyl that looked like wood. There is a brushed vinyl as well:

Yeah, after all that fuss.. I went back and looked closer and you can clearly tell that he didn't sand them down or use any sort of thinner. But thats not to say it doesn't still look amazing. My first thoughts were to try that on S6/RS6 wood trim, but now I guess all I need is to find some 3M vinyl in a similar shade.

I was under the impression that aluminum style trim doesn't lay down well at all, even with heat. can anyone confirm? I wanted aluminum looking trim to cover up the nasty rubberized plastic in my golf and all my friends told me not to bother, because it would never come out looking good at all.

Yeah, I'll def post a link and pics when I do it, 3M has a few different 'types' of wood appearance on top of grain and shade, so I sent in for a few samples that look like they might be a near match to the S6/RS6 trim. They come in 12" x 48" sizes from what I saw, for like $25-30.
