Just got my Forge DV and one of the screws is stripped...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I went to go service the valve and one of the screws that holds the top on, is stripped! It was stuck and when I tried to remove it, it stripped out... Now I cannot seem to service it! I was thinking of someway, like JB weld, to sort of "weld" the alen wrench to the screw?! Maybe solder it in?! Any other ideas? Maybe just drill it out (don't want to do this) and leave that screw out?

Where does a forge DV have a screw in it? 0_o

The whole top comes off to expose the spring, nothing else to it. No screws no nada, unless its some different model, the 007 and the new A-line are the same.

Re: Just got my Forge DV and one of the screws is stripped...

There is a Forge DV that has a different top to it than the ones most are probably conjecturing. I have the Forge 007P, so I know which one he is talking aboit. It has a couple small screws on top of it.

    Here it is.

Guess someone used the wrong size Allen an stripped the bolt. Good game. Get a larger size and hammer it in REALLY HARD. And then try turning it slowly.

try a screw extractor, i highly doubt soldering it would work since solder isnt really strong at all. maybe some jb weld or other epoxy but i think that will also glue itself to the sides and make it even harder. i would go with a larger torx bit or the screw extractor.

yah use a bigger sae allen or torx bit that's snug in there. but soak in plaster for like 1/2 hour. my 004 has the allen setup as well.
