    Re: Revo or GIac

Just go with what is closer. But if you want to get the best for your model, then the drive is upon you. There is GIAC, Unitronics, Dahlback, Revo, APR, MTM, Eurodine, etc. All good names.

Most might frown upon my advice, but if you have the k03s, the GIAC x chip or Dahlback is the best chip and worth the trip. Otherwise, just stay with what is closest. Or look into the other names I listed and find the closest dealer.

    Re: Revo or GIac

    what year car?

if you have any plans for future upgrades. such as K04/BT, i would go with Revo. you won't notice the difference in the stg 1 chips, Revo is close, and gives you good opportunity to upgrade to BT later on(giac doesn't offer BT tunes)

    Re: Revo or GIac

I have GIAC and MTM, and co-drive a Revo now and then. I like them all. The Revo is smoother than the GIAC, and makes a bit more torque than the MTM (butt-dyno).

    All engines are 1.8T
    Cars:
    TTQC- MTM (personal track car)
    Avant- GIAC (personal DD)
    JettaIV- Revo (co-drive)

Seerlah has good advice: close means upgrades and service w/o hassles.

    Re: Revo or GIac

If you had an 01, Dahlback. For every other b5 year, Giac. Unless you plan on going bt than Revo is probably the best move financially... imo. If I had to do it over again, I would go Revo now that slowly prepping for a big turbo.

    Re: Revo or GIac

well i'm not sure if from you 99 to my 2001 would make a difference, but i have the revo stage 1 tune and i am very happy with it.
i was at the dyno and my cat made more HP and torque than a friend with APR tune, he also has exhaust, and intake...i only have the chip and FMIC.
Also a friend with a 99 with a K-04, GIAC, and exhaust i put down more torque than his.
