    Audio Symphony No Bose Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Wondering if any audio guro's might be able to offer some advice.

factory my car comes with the symphony audio system only the rear is pre amped.

I installed a kenwood DNX 7100 head unit

I also am about to purchase jl audi component zr seies for the front 5 1/4

I believe iss the correct fitment..I plan to buy the same set for the rear.

For my sub I am purchasing JL audio 13 inch W7

for the power I will run jl audio 1000v1 for the sub

and a JL audio 450 4 channel for the front and rear speakers

Just wonderinf if 5 1/4 is the correct fitment for the front and rear speakers.

and if running component on the front and rear is a good idea.

My rear speakers are ppre amped..I was wondering how to remove the factory amps and run everything straight.

I'm sure its allot of question..wondering if some audio expert might of tried a setup like mine before.

I wired everything else up so far pretty good looks like factory equipment..just want to remove the factory pre amp's on the rear wondering where to start.

I should post some pics ounce my setup is all up and running.

Thanks again for any help anyone can provide this forum is a blessing

    1. 5 1/4 will work, but you can fit a 6 1/2. 6 1/2s will provide more midrange bass.
    2. Running components front and rear will provide the best sound. Both the woofer and tweeters can be mounted behind the factory grills.
    3. I believe there is only 1 single factory amplifier, in the trunk, that powers your rear speakers (or all speakers if BOSE).

Since this is a complete aftermarket system, you won't use the factory amp or wiring. You should be running all new wiring to the amps and speakers. If your ultimate question is how to remove the factory amp...I don't know, never bothered too on any of the BOSE or Moonsoon systems I've completed full installs on.

Re: Audio Symphony No Bose Question

I replaced the stock HU w/an Alpine and used a Crutchfield harness to tap into the OEM wiring. Ran the front speakers directly from the harness and tapped the OEM wires at the amp for the rears... which I ran back to up to the harness. Also ran RCAs to the rear, into a new amp, for my sub. Works great. Now I just need to pick up some replacements for the stock [non Bose] speakers and things will sound much better.

Here's the wiring diagram for the stock amp in the trunk...

IMO removing the factory amp and wiring is more trouble than it's worth. Plus, if you leave it there you always have the option to seemlessly return to stock should you want to sell the car.

I always leave the stock wiring in my cars, and run new wiring on top of them...Like said above, always a nice option to switch back to stock if need be and you dont have to figure out which wire goes where if u use new wiring...

Re: Audio Symphony No Bose Question

Hey thanks again guys for all the knowledge..

I will leave the stock wireing and run new ones.

I plan on using one JL AUDIO W7 someone is making a box made for that speaker for me I think thats the best way to go..

I plan to power it using JL AUDIO V1000 watt I think its a mono black amp

planning on ordering everything from online car stereo..

and another jl audio amp 4 way..450 watt i believe.. for front and rear..

let me know if those are the right amps to go with i want to keep everything jl audio inside..

pluss i want the amps to be completely hidden is that possible any ideas where to mount them under the seats maybe?
