    vavona wood trim?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm new here... anyone know of a place to pick this up besides the dealer? I love the look of the wood... but have been to afraid to call the dealer and ask for prices. lol.... it can't be cheap. I'm 95% sure the light wood is called vavona. Anyone know anything about this? or how I can confirm information? Thanks everyone....

If you have aluminum trim I'm sure you can leverage a trade for what you want on these forums. Pretty easily. Even standard trim I bet, people on this forum do not favor the wood trim.

    Re: vavona wood trim?

Ok, well that gave me an idea. I have some of the standard plastic trim. I've also been painting cars for the last several years. If anyone has the vavona wood trim, a complete set that is willing to part with it. I'd be more than happy to work out a deal to paint my exisiting plastic trim any color they'd like and ship it back to them. I use all dupont chroma premier bases and dupont clears. I have house of kolor marbleizers and other effects... anyway, the point is, i'm willing to work something out with someone b/c I think the stealership prices would be outrageous. Just a thought... Thanks everyone...

It might help if you post a picture of the trim you have. I'm not sure what "standard plastic trim" is.

    Re: vavona wood trim?

Sooo... I don't have a set of Vavona, but I could probably get you a set of whatever you want from Germany. Even if that didn't work out, would you be interested in painting a set of interior trim for me? Oh, and is there a way to make an aluminum effect with the paint? Just curious. I'm sure Ming Blue with a lot of clear would look killer anyway. Also, what color interior do you have? There are other wood trims aside from Vavona that look pretty good too. I'll post up a few pics. I'm working on a project to have a sticky with all the available interior seat and trim options, so people know exactly what they have and what they want.

Vavona (Also called Nut Brown in ETKA):

Those are for a cabrio, but you get the idea.

    Grey Birch:

Personally I think the Grey Birch looks nice in a darker car. I suppose if you have tan interior, vavona would be nice. I had that, but swapped it out for an S4 CF set, along with RS4 CF ashtrays and shift surround. There is also a blonde Birch I believe, but you'd have to ask the dealer about that.

    Re: vavona wood trim?

that actually looks pretty cool.... but not quite what I'm looking for. but thanks..

As far as painting some trim for you... sure, we can work something out. I figure I'm new to the forum but we all have something we're good at that we can contribute to make the world a bit better for audi drivers ;-) haha... I'll try to get some pictures up of some different effects as far as paint designs go.

    thanks man...

I was going to suggest that to you, but I noticed you switched your wood for carbon fiber.

B6A4Guy, I've been thinking of having mine painted black. How much would it cost?

That would be great to see some of your work. And I guess my contribution is being in the UK and buying a ton of parts from Germany and England and then making you jealous by posting the pics and what I paid for them? But seriously, I can get you some stuff from here for good prices.

The CF was just a temp thing. I still haven't decided whether to go with the Euro brushed aluminum or Ming Blue. I was worried about too much blue inside when I was going with dark blue Alcantara inserts on the seats and door cards, but now that I'm going with a medium grey Alcantara and just blue stitching, the Ming beltline trim might be a good touch. I'll always have other options too. I think I have four or five complete or almost complete sets of trim laying around my house. Have I mentioned that I have a parts collecting addiction?

    Re: vavona wood trim?

I have never heard of the "Blonde Birch", curious as to what that looks like. I have the Grey Birch myself. And as said, it's actually not too hard to come by on here as people don't tend to prefer it. I threw an ad up in the wanted section and had someone ready to trade no longer than a week later. I believe the "plastic" trim you are referring to is the Swing interior. It's a glossy smoked Grey color, with a soft touch shift surround and ash tray covers. Very basic, very dull. I traded mine plus $200 for his Birch. People seem to get around $300 for the aluminum stuff. Plus the long dash piece is about $330 from the dealer by itself. So I didn't mind what I paid. Now if he ever actually gives me a tracking number proving that he shipped it, or hell, if it would even just show up, I'd be a happy camper. Tired of my headlight switch danglin' by the harness.............

    Re: vavona wood trim?

I think the Gray Birch is more suitable to a tan interior. In a black interior it just gets washed out as it is so dark as well. In the tan however if offers a sharp contrast and really makes the interior look stellar.

The blond birch/polished vavona looks odd to me in the tan, very cheap looking which is why I was surprised Audi chose it in the first place. Again, light on light just washes out the overall look. The Vavona looks nicer on the black interior (the tan inserts and seats are a nice addition in that pic above as well). I'd prefer the aluminum for a black interior, it just overall seems sportier where as the tan looks more inviting so a natural finish like wood fits right in. One dark wood I think that would be nice in a black interior is the black birds eye maple, like what is offered on some of the sportier M-B vehicles. It is so dark that it holds a similar sporty tone as the aluminum. Shame Audi never brought that type out but we still have plenty of good options available.

Here is my A4 with tan interior and the S4 gray birch beltline.

That is not a bad trim at all. I wonder what that would look like on Ebony.

Yeah they were the Vanilla Euro Sports seats that were only available on the cabriolet in American. I think that interior is gorgeous too I love the contrast between the black and the vanilla.
