Kinda unrelated to the B6s.. not really though

So I'm posting this cuz I'm curious as fucking hell. About a week ago I was on the freeway when I ran across a white Mazda with dual exhausts. IMO it looked clean. I had no idea what it was.. I think it was a Mazda6. Anyways. So I was driving like around 11PM and he started to pace me. So I thought I'd have a little fun. I tried to start from a 45mph roll.. but whenever I went, he didnt. Finally I let him go first and then I gunned it from 3rd gear. The whole time to 5th, I was barely catching up. When I hit around 115mph, my hood popped open against cuz I didnt have hoodpins so I had to back off. But the whole time I was in 5th, it was dead even. My front bump was about to his back bumper since he took the lead first. I was just wonder how fast are these Mazda6's. To be able to keep up with 250AWHP 250AWTQ, they gotta be somewhat quick.

First of all i wanna say i saw ur car at EIP shop and i saw u driving once by WestValley on Saratogo. Your car sounds sick. And u need to take of the hoodStrut cause it makes ur hood sit funny. haha

If it was a Mazda Speed 6, then it was fast. Its AWD, 6 speed and Turbo. If it was chipped, and had full exhaust then it could be as fast as the audi with 250whp.

We have had some come into our shop and they are fast.

If it was a 6S, then they're fairly quick, but I don't think they're putting down 250 whp. If it was the Mazdaspeed 6, as stated above, they are AWD, and as they have the same motor that my Mazdaspeed 3 did, they put out something like 263 hp, and 280 ft lb, that's to the crank. The turboed 2.3 from Mazda was voted twice as one of the top engines in the world, it's no joke.

Engine Type 2.3L DOHC 16-valve I4 with Turbo
    Horsepower, SAE net 270 @ 5500 rpm
    Torque, SAEnet (lb/ft) 280 @ 3000 rpm
    Redline 6700 rpm

and from what i googled, weighs about 3600 lbs.

something else that i found sucks, is that its minimum fuel rating is 93 octane.

Yep, definitely took premium. My MS3 handled like it was on rails, but it just didn't give me enough room. The back was rather crowded, and for a hatch, it had little cargo room. Quick though, so I can understand that he was hanging with you.

Mazdaspeed 3 and Mazdaspeed 6 have the exact same engine. The same engine is also in the CX 7. It's a 2.3 liter, turboed, forged internals, capable of much higher numbers.

I am Stg1+ and have every supporting mod you can think of. About 2 months ago a Mazdaspeed 3 Wagon pulled up behind me and got right on my ass. Speed limit on the road was 55mph, I jumped on it til about 95mph and never once shook him. He hung about a car length from my back bumper the whole time. If it were a two lane road I have no doubt he would have passed me. Those things are quick, this was also the day that I decided to go GTRS.

Oh yeah, they're damn quick. 1 tick slower to 60 than my 06 GT, handled much better though. Mazda is finally building some good engines.

Don't go GTRS. Seriously, just do a GT30 if youre going with REVO. You spend like $500-$700 more and you'll be a lot happier, trust me. If I had the money, I would be selling my GTRS Elim kit in a heart beat.

Sad thing is I already have everything. I'm just waiting for the time to install. Also I am frontrak so I'll end up with a tad more power. I feel that 250 whp will be fine for me.
