    Stripped Trasmission Fill Plug HELP

So yeah, good I didnt dump the oil before I stripped the fill plug... Now, my question is, how do I get it out? What happened was the allen wrench didnt go all the way in... it only went about a quarter of an inch in when it should really have gone about a half inch. So, now the beginning of the allen hole is rounded.. Down deeper it is still hexogonal but the thing is, now since the start of the allen hole is screwed up it doesnt go down any deeper to catch the good part. I tried pounding it in but the more I do the more burr it creates inside and it just makes the situation worse..

Any ideas????? I am going nuts here.

    Thanks

Dremel a flat in, or just keep pounding until you get a solid hold on the plug and replace the plug gets my vote-

Re: Stripped Trasmission Fill Plug HELP

I have already tried pounding... it makes matters worse plus I am at a point where it feels like every time I give it a hammer shot it feels like a dead blow..... Now, I havent stripped it completely but it started to so I stopped wrenching it. If I put some PB blaster do you guys think it will eventually soak in? Cause that thing was on tight!

It also seems like the rotor is in the way if I wanna go out to a more open space to do the hammering.. I think hammering the shit of out it would work If I got the break assembly off but I have never done that. What are the steps involved in removing the breaks.. Is there a writeup?

The calipers are pretty easy to get off. There are some writeups floating arount on AW.

I got the Plug out! Now I am waiting for a new one... I used a torx bit of the same size and that was able to go all the way in... now the weird thing is that when I called audi they said that the fill plug and the drain plug are 2 different part numbers... but from the outside they look the same... hmmmm, weird
