Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
IIght guys, i've driven u nuts with my threads but this is final! Ok so i can get the kit from Eurocode for like $1400 includes all the hardware, and these are additional mods i'm considering:

    I HAVE A TIPTRONIC!!!!!!!!

-Neuspeed Xtreme tip as well as throttle body hose
    -upgraded fuel rail, from eurocode
    -FMIC/SMIC
    -High flow manifold
    -testpipe
-redo all VAC and Boost lines
    -timing belt
-injectors- 440cc or 550cc(which one is better?)
-Software(REVO or what?? please tell me)
-What are the benefits of a VR6 MAF??
-what are the benefits of a bigger throttle body??
    -anything else??

Vr6 Maf housing is bigger, injectors depends on the hp target.....but from the turbo ill say 440cc will do it.

you're not planning on the tranny upgrade? i know its expensive, just wondering about your thoughts on it.

alot of the members will tell you to go with REVO. im 90% sure thats what i'll get.

Re: Decided to go GTRS Eliminator!

Doesn't REVO have a GTRS file specifically for Tiptronics that limits the torque by limiting the boost?

Re: Decided to go GTRS Eliminator!

If your looking to be around 290-300 AWHP then you will need to run 550cc on the REVO BT software. VR6 MAF is not worth it, so I would advise against it. Being in Socal I would go with a FMIC.

Why are you wanting to upgrade your fuel rail? The stock one can handle the flow requirements just fine.

    Hope this helps!

Re: Decided to go GTRS Eliminator!

OK post whore. Let me make this simple. As long as you have the stock valve body in the tranny, you'll never see anything above 270 awhp so getting an upgraded fuel rail, VR6 MAF, etc is a waste. My suggestions:

GTRS Eliminator turbo w/ REVO programming (550cc injector file).
SPS 3 or SPS SELECT is a must!
ATP manifold -- stock manifold will yield a slightly faster spool though
    Neuspeed Xtreme TIP
    K&N drop in filter
    FMIC
Hi Flow cat as a first choice, test pipe second choice
Electronic boost controller -- help reduces lag
    Exhaust

Once this is done, invest in an upgraded valve body and possibly an upgraded torque converter BUT is not required unless you wanna get all of your potential power to the wheels.

No, what limits torque to the tranny is the TCU getting a signal from the ECU once engine torque exceeds roughly 410Nm to purposely slip the tranny.

Ah, thanks! Btw, what EBC do you specifically recommend? Would it replace the stock N75?

eBoost, HKS, Greddy are all pretty good. I run the Profec B spec II and it works great. An EBC would eliminate the need for the N75.

Re: Decided to go GTRS Eliminator!

I just had my ECU done at Eurocode. I walked in asking for REVO and they recommended APR. I've been happy with it, but don't know the alternative to compare. They are trying hard to get me to put in an Eliminator, but too much $$ for me right now.
I did do a test pipe, myself, which was a biatch. That has been the best bang for the buck so far. My car rockets to redline, compared to the before w/ the cat. Ebay for $99 new, and they are out of OC. The quality seems as good as any high $$ ones I looked at.
New injectors, and the stage 2 are great too. All my mods are evaluated on bang for the buck. I have been stoked on my results for the dollar so far.
I will look forward to hearing about your Eliminator install.

^^this is the reason i'm going GTRS, because if i get stuck doing a k04 build no one can really help me out, but since so many people have gone GTRS and i read RLB6's build thread(he got owned lol) i saw that it was worth every penny he's spent, and well i didn't want to risk not making 200WHP with a K04 after spending $3k!!!!

I guess all of the B5 TIP guys that ran BT's before B6's were even produced had nothing to do with that.

Just odd that B5's TIP guys are running BAT's but yet the B6 guys are worried about running a BT.

Some times I get the feeling that the B6 guys forget that there was such a thing as a B5 that came before them.

    x2 Doug.

Kirk.... RLB6's setup is what you should mirror.

I'm actually going that direction too...... I'm giving up my APR 1+ and going to GTRS with REVO.

    I have a '02 Tiptronic.

I DON'T WANT TO SPEND $3K ON A 2871R, my boost is gonna come in late already lets not extend it! but this is smart i think: i'm going to go with the total kit that includes everything for $2500 from eurocode, software, injectors, sps, etc. basically what my calculations came out to, just need a tip and an FMIC, and a throttle inlet and i'm set! thanx guys! please keep me up with advice!

Well, the B5 guys have a slightly different tranny AND have a tip chip available to them so more could be done. One of the biggest obstacles for the auto B6 guys is that the options for the B5 and B5 S4 are NOT available for the B6.

Odd, pretty sure I saw a post about there being a TIP chip for the 02. Isn't the tip chip mainly just change the amount of time it takes for each shift? I dont think they design the tip chip with a BAT setup in mind

11's with a B6? I dont even think anyone has hit 12.5 yet with a B6. Going to take way more then a GT2871r to get a B6 into the 11's.

1000 lb? It would have to look like swiss cheese to even come close to that. Marc's S4 fully gutted to a sheel with a driveline and 1 seat was still 2500 lbs.

His best run was way back in 2006 which was 13.3 at 107 mph, that is still a long ways away from 11.99

^^if shawn installs his R32 turbo and can get the tires to stick when he does a run he can get to the 12s at least!

well I sure hope he has plans for slicks if he expects any traction with 400whp on a FWD car. I think he is just looking to get into the 13's first.
