19 inch wheels with 235 tire rubs

I just bought a pair of 19inch wheels with a 235 tire on them. Mounted them up and the rears rub a little on the upper control arm not alot just scuffs the tire a little. I tried searching this topic but I didnt really get far.

Bascially Im thinking i need wheel spacers I just curious as to how big of a spacer I need. I thought 5mm would be good enough as I dont want to go too far out but just enough to give some good clearance from the suspension. I'm not lowered yet either its on stock suspenstion and not the sport suspension. Any other opinions?

    how wide are the wheels?

I would personally go with 8-10mm spacers

Re: 19 inch wheels with 235 tire rubs

That's strange because I have 19" and 8.5 wide with 235/35/19 tires and I don't rub. I was on sport suspension and didn't rub. I am lowered and still don't rub on the rear. The front is where I run in to trouble. I can lower my suspension and tuck my rears and still roll, but it would look retarded because I can't lower my front that much. I am pretty close but no rub, are you sure your shocks are not shot realy realy bad?

    I rubbed with 235s on a 8" wheel 43et. A 5mm spacers fixed the problem.

your offset must be 40-50 et. yeah 10mm spacer would be a safe bet.
82mm je pistons, scat rods, ported & polished aeb head. gt2871r, atp hi flow manifold (ported). 580cc injectors on custom giac tune. Once you boost, you'll never go back....
