Got the $5,500 S4 in the mail yesterday(PICS).........

So it finally came. The $5,500 auction S4 that I bought on the internet without looking at it. Its defiantly a fixer upper. Vote and let me know whether you think this was a good or bad investment. I went through it with a fine tooth comb and heres the bad and the good(thats a stick under the front bumper in the pics):

THE BAD:
Needs a windshield
Needs 2 tires(does not matter because I have LM Reps that are going on)
Needs a glove box door(handle is broken off)
Needs a passenger door speaker(does not matter to me because you can only hear the scritches on very low volume)
Needs a timing belt because I dont know when it was last replaced
Rear bumper needs to be re-painted(scratches and a scuff)
Needs two upper control arms

THE GOOD:
It is a 2001.5 not a early 2001
Turbos seem fine
Runs and drives good
The dash has NO dead pixels
No CEL
No warning lights at all
Has drilled and slotted rotors
Alcantera is in good condition
Clutch seems fine
Everything in the interior works good

Yea it was really low when it came off the shipping truck. I had to jump it to start it the first time. I'm assuming it completely died somewhere along the way. Charged it up and its fine now.

i'd say you made out great. minor stuff is no big deal. all the other overlooked stuff can add up. timing belt, waterpump, cam seals if leaking. blah blah blah. you know the deal. and then you can start on the aftermarket parts.

depending on what your goal is with the car you could do whatever you want. even dump it and make some extra dough.

That's a small fix list. good find! I found an A6 2.7T on CL for $4000 but damn someone scooped it up quick.

LOL, Yea I made quick work of the old one. I had it from my old s4 that I sold. I also have:
blistein shocks/h&R springs
BBS LM Reps
UUC VM1 Exhaust
Samco TBB
Auto meter boost guage with a custom mount

All of this will go on after all problem items are fixed. Hopfully I will have it all on with an GIAC Chipped ECU from marc by the time H2O rolls around. Well see though.
