    Hey well i think im going to the auto parts store tomorrow to pick up a cone filter. Firstly i need a 3 inch filter right? And while im there do i need to pick up any other miscellenous parts for the install (hose clamps etc.)?

    You'll need a heatshield of some sort.

    Besides the heat shield you dont really need anything. Most cone filters will come with all the necessary clamps.
