    Springs Comparison

I'm looking for the lowering springs with the most comfortable ride.

I searched for spring rates but found nothing.

Here's the ride height info from parks853's sticky.

    Springs

    H & R
    Sport Spring
    AWD, Typ 8E, 4 cyl
    Standard suspension lowers approx:
    1.7F / 1.6R
    Sport suspension lowers approx:
    N/A

    Tein
    S-tech
    Standard suspension lowers approx:
    N/A
    Sport suspension lowers approx:
    1.54F / 1.06R

    Eibach
    Pro Kit
    Standard suspension lowers approx:
    1.2F / 1.2R
    Sport suspension lowers approx:
    N/A

    Neuspeed
    Sport Springs
    Fits 2005-up A4 2.0T Quattro Sedan.
    Standard suspension lowers approx:
    1.5F / 1.5R
    Sport suspension lowers approx:
    0.75F / 0.75R

I'd expect the springs that lower the least to have the most comfortable ride, which would mean the Eibachs or Neuspeeds. I saw several posts by people stating that the Eibach drop appeared closer to 1.75".

Anyone out there have DIRECT EXPERIENCE with some of these springs?

^ Look to see if you can find the actual springrate for all those springs.

Higher value in springrate = stiffer, stiffer means "less comfortable"

All depends on what "comfort" means to you, cause for me comfort is a stiff yet not bouncy ride. Like i have the H&R springs with stock shocks and that isn't comfortable to me cause the ride is too bouncy, i would like something more stiff but a comfortable rebound. Something like what my brother has with his KW v3 on his A6. I havn't ridden in any other cars with those springs with stock shocks so i dont know but if you dont mind the soft bouncy ride of the stock shocks then just put any spring on there. The handling in turns is pretty good but just not good enough for me.

Thanks, but I've checked the mfg websites for H&R, Eibach, and Neuspeed along with brief searches on the net and here.

I've owned a WRX since 2001 and have done some autocrossing and plenty track days and had several suspension setups, so I'm familiar with all the basics (and then some), but am just looking for some subjective feedback here.

For this thread, I'll clarify comfort by adding "closest to stock spring rates".

I'm looking for a friend that just purchased a 2008 A4 with the sport suspension. He's not particularly a performance guy, but he'd like the car to sit a little lower for purely aesthetic reasons.

The stock sport suspension shocks would be retained.
