Whats up guys? I just brought my car down today from WA!! Only problem is after I got here it wanted to mis-fire and im throwing a code. Its either a spark plug or a coil pack. My question is does anyone here have a Vag-com?? Anyways we should all get to together for a photoshoot/ drive sometime before school is out!

Its most likely your plugs before anything. Even then, it could be a bad boost leak.

Just re-read this and noticed you said you have a misfire. I have class till 3:00 tomorrow, but anytime after 3, and all day Thursday I am open. I can drive down to OSU if you want. Pull codes and see what we can do.

That would be awesome!! Let me run it tomorrow and see how its acting again, I did just have a 4 1/2 hour drive so maybe something is up with that. It never totally misfired and I drove it home from the gym, it was just getting the feeling of mis-firing were its starts to sputter and the exhaust sounds really weird, but i kept giving it gas and it sort of went away so will see. FYI I changed my spark plugs and packs less than 8000 miles ago if that makes any difference.

How long has it been sputtering for? Do you have a CEL?

Yeah thatd be good, now its acting up again and just runs like crap. I am pretty sure its a coilpack because one second it will run fine then the next it will run with like no power and a hard idle, it will do this for about a minute then it will kick back over and run fine. Its just pissing me off. hahah so cool it does this right after I bring my car down.

Yeah, i probably can bring it back. I plan on going home on Friday night and staying till either monday night or tuesday early early morning (would be back at like 8am cause of class) but if you can wait till tuesday afternoon or wednesday afternoon then ya i could definitely bring it down for you. Hey thanks guys! Ill be around all weekend. My car seems to run just fine when its cold but when it heats up it starts to misfire or studder which is really weird. Btw I saw one of you Sigma Chi guys today in the s4 w/ rs4 front I waved so did you. Funny thing is when I was passing by you my car was misfiring hahah.

Guys I fixed the beast! I took out all the coil packs cleaned them took out the spark plugs and noticed one was really loose. So I cleaned the plugs put everything back and made sure it was tighter, and I haven't had the problem since!

That was me. I'm mobbin the S4 cuz Casey (CSho1.8t) stole my A4 and won't give it back haha. Did you get the problem solved or is your car still misfiring? It could be your ICM, ignition control module. I had the same problem last summer where my car would imtermitently misfire just like yours and that ended up being the problem. It got progressively worse over time until it gave out all together and I lost power in one of my cylinders.

Thats funny. Naw i haven't seen you around LO, but i will definitely be on the lookout now. I drive a Silver S4 with Ecodes, RS4 grill, and lowered on H&R coilovers. Im looking at getting my exhaust before school gets out so hopefully i will have it on a week or so after school gets out. Also i graduated from Lakeridge 07' (I moved here from texas senior year otherwise i'm sure i would have met you). But i know Blair and stuff so if i ever see you around i'll give you a honk, or if you ever need help with your car LMK.
