    Question Coilover Issue

    Hey Guys,
I've had some Coil Overs on the car for about 6 months now, and lately I have been noticing a lot of bottoming out in the rear of the car as well as the shocks seeming to give too much play when rebounding. Anyone have any clue how to rectify this? Should I try raising the rear coils slightly and adjusting the dampening? I have about a two finger gap in the rear. Any feedback would be great.
    Thanks

    Joe

i see in your signature, these are the KW V2's? what size wheels/tires are you running? a 2 finger gap shouldn't bottom out so often, i think some years the sport suspension is only a 2 finger gap. it seems odd that the problem just started, as CO's shouldn;t wear out that fast.

Take one of the shocks out and check it. Push the piston all the way down and if it takes a long time to come back up it is blown and will need to be sent in for service. If you bought them used, that could be why. Since it is the rear, it shouldn't be too hard or take too long to pull out

If you find no problems with the coilovers, then cut out lke 2-3" of the wheel well liner carpet. That's prolly all you are hitting. Once I cut that out, I have NO problems. But I'm at a no-finger gap. At two fingers, there has to be something wrong.

If I recall correctly the KW Dampers are similar to the Koni dampers and are NOT gas charged. Thus when pushed in they will not automatically expand like the a gas changed Bilstein will.

    Re: Coilover Issue

im starting to regret not going with the gas shocks!
I gotta jack the car up this weekend, and try to see what the issue is..
I thought me having the swaybay might of been causing the clunking, but not too sure..
