Well, I got my first audi a6 last week. 1999 one previous owner 100k. well, timing belt and all that other fun stuff needed to be done. The dealer said they charge about 1800. I said bullshit. So i got the big thick dealer manuel for the low cost of $90.00 then order the T-kit with all the fixings $215 and went to work. Well needless to say all went great. For a few hours out of my day and $305 out of my pocket I saved about $1500 bucks. So If I can do it anyone can.

    Definitely agree.^^^

I did mine this past weekend and the belt/waterpump/thermostat were a joke as far as dificulty goes. The 1.8T was actually more difficult due to the oil pump sprocket and having to clamp the belt to the cam sprocket to keep it tight during belt routing.

The bumper isn't hard to remove at all either. It's the coolant draining, radiator hose clips and removing all the wiring from the lock carrier to make it moveable.

NO, I didn't use any locking tools. As long as you line up the marks on the cams and drive shaft you should be fine. The difficulty level is soo over rated. The hardest thing for me was taking about 3 hours out of my day on a 80 degree Saturday afternoon. Other than that i can do this with my eyes closed.

Just a heads up the fan pully has two hex screws inside of the pully. The top is a 4 and the bottom is a 6. Also you can us the Torx T-35, 40, 45 to sub for most of the hex bolts. Good luck if you have any quetions drop me a message Adam
