my tranny is about to go...

I think. I'm not sure but i think it is. here are the symptoms, you tell me.

Every time I'm entering a corner hard in first gear at about 3-5k rpms then shifting to second without easing off the gas my car will slip gears go into neutral, then rev up to like 6k rpms, then shift into second with a big lurch

When I brake too fast in tip mode and stop at a stop light I'll look at my revs notice there at like 2k then the car will lurch forward and drop back down into .5-1k rpms as it should while being idle.

If I'm coming to a stop and I'm at about 15mph and i shift into first the car will make a big lurch.

Is my car planning on being dead soon? If so its going up for sale haha.

it does it out of tip too though..thats what scares me, I'd just rather I don't have to go through the process of selling my car. just too much of a hassle.

i'd say take it easy and get it looked at, the first description doesn't sound good at all+

and a note on tip, i always drive in tip mode, and hard... love it... and the trans is holding up amazingly well for being almost 10 years old

Re: my tranny is about to go...

no codes are showing, and today while I was driving it I was turning and the car just stalled and was sitting there revving, I had to turn the car off then back on and switch it from drive to reverse. then It would switch into first gear and actually move rather than just sit there and do nothing. Im planning on trading the car in this week for either a gti or a wrx sti.

Re: my tranny is about to go...

my parents 2000 honda accord was doing the exact same thing when the tranny was on its way out. it got to the point where it was almost impossible to drive. the car was doing neutral drops every 6 seconds, revved up then popped into gear, over and over
