Quick question about tranny mounts on a TIP...

So I'm out replacing my tranny mounts with 034 mounts, trying to track down this annoying ass thud when I accelerate and I realized I'm gonna have to jack up the tranny to get the mounts out

This might be a dumb question but is there a good jack point for the transmission? I don't see a location that I trust because the whole bottom of the tranny is covered by the filter cover and I'm hesitant to jack that up.

Like I said, probably a dumb question but just wanted to make sure before I puncture a hole in the cover or something equally dumb knowing my luck.

    Thanks-

Good question. I replaced mine with same thing but engine was removed for stage3. I think that you'll have to jack tranny from behind (tail) and lower subframe a bit to do the job but not sure.

Ugh I was really hoping I wouldn't have to touch the subframe, thanks for the quick response Reich.

Maybe I'll just bolt everything back in and take it somewhere, I need to take it in to have another nagging problem solved and that should only take a few minutes.

Unbolt the motor mountz, and the tranny mounts. Put the jack towards the back of the tranny near the rear prop shaft and jack. Or you could jack up where the bell housing meets the block., That method might give you more room to work. But if you leave the motormounts bolted up you might not be able to get the tranny high enough to remove the tranny mounts. Do not use the ATF pan, it' mgight punch a hole through it. GL
