Cleaning Suede?

Just wondering what you all with Suede/Alcantara interior use to clean it. I have heard to only use soap and water, however have seen some Suede cleaners in the stores. I'm going to try the soap and water first, but I have the white suede and am not sure if it will totally clean it. Do I just use just regular dish soap or what? Thanks
