Rieger illuminated shift knobs now for our cars.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I placed an order with namotorsports.net for a MKV knob and i was going to make it work with my car as they attach with set screws, i'd just have to make the boot work (i was hoping). I typed in my vehicle year and information in the order form, they called me back informing me they have one specifically for the B6 A4s and they're not on the site yet (nor have i found them elsewhere).

So throwing that out there as i did find a little interest in them for our cars when i was searching.

Here's an idea of what they look like.

I'll try to get actual pictures of mine when it gets here, but it'll be a long time until i have illuminated pictures as my car is down with no transmission.

I would definitely be down for one of those. I found a good DIY on vortex for a VW install. The pictures showed the rieger as about an inch taller than stock. That might be a deal breaker - do you know the height difference?

    p.s. - they run $120.

I'm installing mine on a short-throw shifter, but i suppose i could take measurements on the stock shifter to compare the two.

I normally wouldn't buy something like this, but i dinged up my factory knob and boot and when i mess something up, something better goes in it's place. :P

yeah, but, other than the steering wheel, your knob is the thing you touch the most when you drive.

    gotta be worth some TLC.

Thought it was pretty cheap compared to other things on the market quite frankly.

Factory RS4 knobs alone and whatever else fetch about the same price if not more.

So does it show what gear you are in also with a different color? Or is the knob just illuminated that entire time?

There is a universal knob called an "Indy-Cator" which shows what gear you're in.

Spoke too soon, they gave me a call back, it's the B5s that they have knobs for. I'm going to go ahead and have them ship that to me and see if it'll fit.

Re: Rieger illuminated shift knobs now for our cars.

i asked Nick at NAM few months back about it and they said it was available. my friend had a 5spd red in a coupe quattro and later sold to another friend with 99.5 A4.

and it looks totally sweet, it was $95 when i looked at it few years back from reigeretc, but now the dollar/euro sucks.
