Those of you who have Hoen city lights EDIT: I NEED HELP!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Are yours melted to your housing? Mine burnt out and I can't get it out. It's fused to the housing.

Any of you guys able to get them out?

I'll post a pic later since this thread is worthless without pics. hah

    Edit:
I took my other one out, which is fine, isn't melted to the housing.

Now for the other side, I can't get it out! It's part of the housing now! Anyone with ideas on how to get it out? Would some sort of heat gun be a viable option? Stick it in there and heat it up so that I can hopefully pull it out. But I'd be worried about melting other things too. Also, what exactly makes it too hot, the DRL or the Xenons? I'm thinking of leaving the lights on for awhile to try and heat everything up to get it out.

    What to do?!?!

There have been countless comments/warnings of this happening with the Hoen City Light bulbs.

Re: Those of you who have Hoen city lights

yea there was a big thread about it a couple months ago.. thats why people are going crazy over the new LED city lights that one of our own members is making as a solution to this problem. Sorry to hear that it happened to you, another person had to replace their set of headlights because of this.

when my hoens did the same thing I took a hanger and bent it so that I could get the end of the hanger (covered in ducktape) inside the opening and was able to fish the broken peices of bulb out of the headlight housing.

    Hey bro,
sad to say but this also happend to me. What I did was do the CC mod again, after taking the headlight cover completely off I used a small razor blade and slowly/carefully cut off all the melted plastic from the bulb n the housing perfectly. Then once I was fully able to remove the city light housing I took out the bulb with my hands/needle nose pliers and I then put in the OEM city light back in n tested it to see if the housing was alright. Sure enuff it was so...., I then popped it back in to the headlight housing n everthing worked PERFECT. Good Luck hope this helps. Atleast for me it did.

I've wanted to do the clear corner mod. But I'm too pu$$y to take the headlights apart. Maybe I have no choice now..
