Either way it's a shame, actually.

If it's true, I'm saddened to hear that his son died, because I have many friends who have either been there and back or are there currently. Not only that, I'm appalled that the US government would expect someone to accept such a meager payment in exchange for the life of their son. If I did decide to inquire, I would most certainly offer him more than he is asking; it would be the least I could do to show my gratitude for his son's service.

Looks like its a fake.
If you search for that email address a few of the same craigslist ads come up in different cities. Some have already been taken down.

well i emailed the seller my condolences and told him that i dont even want to make an offer for the car, but that his son would be in my prayers. if this is somehow a scam, this guy deserves something that i'm not even going to say

All these MF's on CL are scams!!! Fukcers!!! When I was looking for an B5 S4 I also emailed one of the sellers and got the same reply twice about how he was in Germany but the car was in the US. Yeah, send me money and you can have title!!! Hahaha...
