A4's a goner, (block sale question)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What would a fair price be to sell a bare AEB block for and what about another one that is still in tact (short block only).

Also, same quesstion for the heads on both motors. One is an ATW which is fine and the other is an AEB head that needs rebuilt.

Basically selling two motors. ATW is ok, AEB needs a rebuild due to a timing belt snap (valves and pistons).

Trying to get some prices before selling. Please don't pm any offers for the parts. When they are FS, I will post an add in the FS section. All pm's will be ignored at this time.

Completely stripped down AEB block? If it needs to be machined due to a ring ridge, or cyl taper is too excessive to "throw" it together w/o machining, I'd go $200-$250.
The ATW short block in good condition? Condition of cylinders obviously effects price, and if you knew the compression of each cyl before teardown would be good info if I were interested in buying. I'd say something like $600 if it could be dropped in and ran for a good 75K or more.

I'm guessing on these numbers, I haven't had to buy Audi bottom end parts yet, so I'm not real credible on what they're worth.

Re: A4's a goner, (block sale question)

Thanks. I haven't had to buy any either. These are in my friends garage and I need to get them out. The AEB block doesn't need machined from any damage. There is no damage to the block. I'd get it honed/cleaned up before having it assembled though just as any other block should be, but that's just me.

I wasn't sure on what to ask for or accept price wise for them. Hard to tell without pics I guess. I'll try to take some next time out there, but for now just trying to get a feel on good asking prices.

Any thoughts on the top end? Bare AEB head and an ATW head that has all internals with no damage. The ATW head was taken off a running motor.

I sold my A4. Nothing happened to it. These were extra motors I picked up with plans to build one.

rebuild the aeb with the atw internals for more money. I've seen aebs go for about 800 then sell the atw core.

I thought about it, but I don't have the time to put towards it so I'm just selling the stuff.
