What does everyone do here to afford an s4 or rs4?!

Ill start.. I am a college student, working with my dad in the car business.

Just would like to know what everyone does.. specially to afford these $4.20 premium fuel prices.

I was happy to find a good deal on a low mileage S4 at my local carmax...that was the only way it was going to fit in my budget especially after buying a big rock for the lady.

As far as fuel prices go...if this keeps up I see a 335i coupe which has a lotter better MPG. I'm thinking a certified 335i this fall would be nice. I think I could actually find one for under $40k...whereas even a certified S5 will command closer to $50k...

Currently, I'm a full-time student and I run an ebay business. During high school, while all my friends were partying it up and "enjoying" the high school life, I worked 8 hour days after school and 10 hour days on the weekend. I was a medical assistant so it was fun. I also kept my grades up to get a scholarship. I saved around 95% of my earnings to purchase my RS4 all by myself (it also helps having great credit and knowing how to deal with dealerships and having connections!!)

Then, after having my car for 8 months, I was involved in a serious hit-and-run (I was hit!). A brand new cl63 sideswiped/t-boned me at a 30 degree angle, pushing me into a Subaru. The subaru and I went up onto the curb and hit a couple of trees, both cars being totaled. Luckily, I was checking out the CL63 at the light a mile or two before the impact and remembered the numbers on the paper plates. Well, the dumbass who thought he would get away when there were only 3 cl63's in the city at that time was caught. Then the subaru driver and I sued for a hefty amount and gap-insurance got me a new RS4. Unfortunately, I got my new 2nd RS4 3 weeks before the 2008's hit the dealerships, but it was nice starting from scratch again.....

well, I have my 1st RS4 to thank for that! I walked out with no injuries, except a very sore neck, chest, and back. Audi's are extremely safe cars (one of the reasons why I went with Audi)

My parents made a deal with my brother and I that, if we each got into our top-choice Ivy-league school, they'd buy us the cars of our choice (obviously within a reasonable price range, though). He got into his first choice three years ago and found a sick three-year lease rate on the S4 (otherwise it probably would have been too expensive...). I got into my first choice last year and got a Mazda RX-8. Anyway, my brother never ended up using his car because he goes to a city school and works in NYC each summer, so we sold my RX-8 and now the S4 is mine...

So, in short, what do I do to afford the S4? I'm just lucky to have well educated and wealthy parents. And I worked my ass off in high school so I could get into Penn.

I think i am...i got my s4 through a man at my dads job....worked all summer for him..his lease was up at the end of august and then he presented me with buying out the lease and i did...now i work at a bagel shop on sundays, waiter at a huge fine dinning hall, and i mow grass and plow drivings in the winter to make the insurance money....and still have one more year of high school...

I have owned 12 other cars since I started driving years ago (everything from a Mercury Capri to several Mercedes). This is my first Audi and by far it's the best car I have ever owned. My next car will definitely be another Audi -an RS5 would be nice.

As for what I do, I'm a sales/project manager for a telecom company and have been with them for 10 years. I work from home since our main office is based in NY but I do travel from time to time. The job is great since it has allowed me to travel all over the world to places I never would have gone to otherwise.

I'm 20 and I attend Purdue University for Business Management. Daddy bought me a wrx when i turned 16. I then worked through high school to put a full jdm powertrain/drivetrain combined with a big turbo setup to make about 400 wheel. Sold the wrx for a little more than bluebook rate for a used 05 sti in january (since true jdm setups are rare in the subie world). Bought my b6 off an old buddy (trust fund baby, 24 now driving an 07 m5 while living in LA trying to become a producer) for a PRETTY REASONABLE price. Luckily since i make the grades, dad picks up insurance and the college bills. I'm working on becoming a bartender right now combined with an internship at Northwestern Mutual Funds and taking a summer class.
