    Slow roll click????

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
hey, looking for a possible place to start with an issue.. So here it is, when I am slowing down in 1st or second as I approach stop (0-15mph) I get one distinct click noise from the front of car.. You can hear it in the car with windows up and feel it in the brake pedal. It doesn't happen if I don't apply the brakes. I'm leaning towards a caliper sticking?? I recently replaced suction pump which conects to the Mani, brake booster, and crank case I believe... Any ideas... TIA

    Re: Slow roll click????

Most likely just your brake pads moving slightly. VAG cars are prone to this, especially if you are running after market pads. sometimes you can fix it by spreading out the mounting clips on the back of the pad. I have had good luck with this stuff. It helps to "glue" the pad to the piston and restrict the rotational movement.

Thanks old guy... I have the oem pads but it is getting time to replace them so my feelings it was pad related since the normal at speed braking is fine with a little squeaking here and there and this annoying click

    Re: Slow roll click????

make sure the guide pins aren't worn and the bolt is tight.

its kinda hard to hear the CV joints when they go bad at first due to the sound insulation but if you have a buddy on the outside listen you can hear the issue when it first starts. in my case it was a torn boot i hit road debris a few days earlier went in for B7 a4 break upgrades and was able to re-boot it thankfully. (it wasn't really clicking) . but i've heard b6's click from cv's.

might also check for blown APR snub mount :) or other brand snub mount.
