any1 have exploded view of airbox?

i am going to modify mine, so i wanted an exploded view to see what connections still need to remain etc when i modify it. the problem with being a mechanical engineer is you cant leave well enough alone....

I see... so connections do you mean air connections, or all connections?
For air there is only the part that screws to the MAF and the the breather connection, both visible by just looking at the air box. Also the scoop part that just slips in to the top back part.

most importantly things that would throw a code, i would like to tryo to run a cone filter inside with a bigger air ducting to it, either thru fender or front grille. isnt there also the dv connection to the box?

you could take it out and cut out any chambers or baffling that is in there

i wonder if it would draw more air from the bottom if i were to cut a hole in the fender and bottom of the box say 6x6 hole then place a screen to stop gravel and road grim from coming off of the tire. after looking at audi's design it looks like it is laking the cubic air space to satisfy a k04 or bigger. imo

the airbox is plenty big enough to feed two k04's

not a bad design really; only thing i've seen a little better is the WS6 style ram air design but that really doesn't make much of a difference until you are nearing triple digit speeds.

i live my life quarter mile at a time - im always nearing triple digit speeds

at triple digit speeds the air flowing in thru the air duct system in the grille is at max velocity, actually the slower you go the less flow there is to the induction system.

remember the hose going out of the airbox into the wheel well too. its not an old-skool one-way airbox.
