Stoptech ST40 Calipers $425 shipped

I have a BRAND NEW pair of Stoptech ST40 Calipers that I need to sell. $425 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 states. Part numbers are 72.423.4H51 and 72.423.4H52

These take a 13.5" rotor at 28mm.

If you are having trouble fitting 14" rotors under your wheels, these might be the hot ticket for you.

28mm will fade faster than 35mm's, but they also cool off faster.

If you road course your car, 355x35's m ight be a better choice.

If you AutoX, or if you're going BBK simply for weight savings/aesthetics, these might be right for you.

If the cost of a BBK is a concern, these DEFINITELY might be right for you...


The ST40 caliper used with the 14" Stoptech kit for A4's have 32mm and 38mm pistons, these calipers have 32mm and 36mm pistons. depending on your car and rear brake setup, this may be advantageous, as it adds some rear bias compared to the 32/38 calipers.

bolt holes are 5-1/8" on center / 130mm, this is the same measurement as the other 4 Stoptech calipers I have seen, and it APPEARS to me that they start out with identical blanks (hence the "ST40" model name) and then bore and cut the caliper for the appropriate piston/rotor size.
Stoptech's website lists a PLETHORA of cars which take a 28mm rotor. These would make AWESOME rear brake calipers if you could do without a parking brake OR if you were to install a hydraulic parking brake setup (K-sport systems are available here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KSPOR...3286.m20.l1116

And are evidently quite popular among the Rally/Drifting crowd...

so im guessing they are saying it wont work because the piston sizes are different? and that it will affect the f/r brake bias too much?

i feel like it wouldnt be that big of a deal. anyone know the difference in piston sizes between the a4 and s4 stoptech calipers? ill run some calcs just for fun
