HELP (car like to take forever to start)

    Ok so....

It started doing this out of no where. Car does not like to start on the first try. It will keep cranking but does not turn over, till mabey the 2nd or 3rd try. But its at random. I had nothing to do where the car is hot or not. Also if i hit the gas pedal while cranking it sometimes it will come on still on the first long try.

I have no check engine light or any light. Sometimes after taking forever to start the EPC light will be on. But if i turn of the car and turn it back on the EPC goes away.

Think it's something I can get done under my warranty? Rather pay the 50 deductable, than 90 for the part.

Re: HELP (car like to take forever to start)

There seems to be a million things that would cause these cars to have a starting issue; including N80 valve, g 28 sensor, ect sensor, spark plugs, fuel pump, and the list goes on and on. My car is in the shop for this very same issue. Mine would have trouble starting. I eventually got it to run and it stopped on the Tappan Zee Bridge. So im hoping that my issue was the fuel pump. Even though Audi says that my 03 was not included in the recall.

Re: HELP (car like to take forever to start)

I had trouble with mine starting as well and it was a dirty thorttle body. Dealer cleaned it and adapted it (whatever the hell that means). No problems since.

Re: HELP (car like to take forever to start)

Had the same problem and took to the dealer and they found that the module that communicates with the car's locking systems and the alarm systems was the problem and it drained my battery. Had to replace the battery and module - $$ - ouch!
