Brand new ABT rims, one now curbed... :(

So I made the mistake of letting a friend drive us to dinner in my car tonight. He knew the way to the restaurant and I generally don't mind people driving my car as long as I trust them. Well, we got about 50 feet and he curbed the front right wheel. Looks like about 8 inches and then a bit in another place. They haven't even been on the f'ing car for a week!

So... If I have to get one refinished, I know they won't be able to match the original finish. Well, at least I'm betting they won't. I was thinking of a color change for them. Perhaps gunmetal? My plan is to get a shop to black out the metal trim around the windows with either a pro vinyl job, or maybe paint or plasti-dip. I have black-out front grills waiting for install, and I would black out the back bumper/trunk trim bit. So gunmetal or something else would look nice. Any suggestions? I'll take a few pics of the damage in the morning.

black wouldn't look too bad either to match your other black trims. you could probably just do it yourself if you have the time and patience.

The supercharger and possibly a widebody will be the endgame for this car.

hay man just get another one. thats why you have a matching spare (with matching tire). then you can deal with it on your own time (or not).

I just recently had one of my ABT wheels repaired by Wheel Collision Repair in Bath PA. I hit a pothole and bent the rim. They did a perfect repair and paint match. Most ABT wheels are made by BBS and use the same paint color and process such as BBS Brillaint Silver. Wheel Collision Repair can match this process. $250 for repair and refinish.

Sometimes is less expensive to buy new rim instead repairing it.

Hmmm... Through ABT Sportsline in Germany, I believe I can get another one for maybe $250 shipped? And to get a wheel refinished here is about $100 thankfully. I like the idea of having a full spare. And I'd just buy a non-directional tire for it.

I had the same thing happen about a month after I got my SP1's. I had gotten it refinished and the color match was dead on from what I can remember.
