    V-maxx coilovers

I'm guessing SOMEONE here has had to have tried these? Any experiences, opinions?

A couple of the ebay ads for these claim they are made in Europe and are TUV approved? Regardless, I'd like to hear firsthand experiences by anyone who has used these coilovers.

I am sitting on the fence right now, between lowering springs/Bilsteins and these V-maxx coilovers. Both would cost under $650, but I'm just not sure which would handle better at the end of the day...

Either way, what are the diffence in springs for FWD -vs- Quattro -vs- Avant?

Alot of brake and suspension parts I see for sale are listed as "B5 A4 Audi 98-01" Is there any difference between 1997 and 1998? or is this simply ignorance on behalf of the seller (god forbid the manufacturer)?

A lot of volkswagen guys run vmaxx. they're pretty bouncy and don't improve handling much, if at all. More for the look of a drop rather than performance.

They aren't actually MADE in Europe. They parts are manufactured in Asia. They're shipped in pieces to Europe, labeled, packaged, and thus labeled as Made in Europe.

B5 FWD and B5 Quattros are totally different suspensions in the rear. Not at all interchangeable.

like 95% of anything made these days
    parts are made in asia
and sometimes assembled in asia too.
sometimes parts are made in asia and assembed somewhere else.

    Re: V-maxx coilovers

I have had my VMaxx's on my Passat for almost a year now and they are starting to ride like poopy. I plan to upgrade to KW or Bilstein at tax time.

that's a drag, and a story we hear all the time.

save your pennies, buy it once and buy it right. i'm not saying you need $4k coilovers - but get a reputable product that will work properly and give a reasonable service life. not to mention - what's your time worth? you lose some $, you can always make it back, your time is gone forever!

the led taillights? get the cheapest ones you can. ;-)
