2005.5 S4

Hey Guys!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have the opportunity to purchase a 2005.5 S5 w/ Navi, carbon fiber, 6MT, heated seats, etc. Unfortunately, it has about 60K miles on it and the seller is asking $36K. I'm definitely thinking that's much too high and am a bit leary since it's not under warranty anymore.

1. What is a fair asking price?
2. Is there any way I could purchase a warranty from Audi or third paty since it's not a CPO?
3. Anything that I should know about the 2005.5 model that will cost me an arm and a leg to fix down the road?[O_O]
4. Should I just go for a 2006 because of the minor changes made to that year? (60/40 bias versus 50/50)

On ebay, straight 05.5s with 40k or less are bringing 30-31 and selling., under warranty

I know that your car was pristine, but the B7 is still carrying a little bit of a premium over the B6......he's looking at a 2005.5 so it's a B7.

IMO the price is too high factoring in the mileage and the fact that it has no factory warranty and is not a CPO. As several other posters have mentioned a B7 S4, with a warranty, can be had on eBay for the low $30s.

I know but 60k is more than twice the amount of miles than mine had and it's prices at 10k more.

For that price or 1k more you should be able to get a CPO 05.5 S4 with 35k miles or around that.

Yep, too high for no CPO, no navi, too high milage, and private sale. I bought my 05.5 tip, navi, CPO, 22.5k miles back in Feb for $36k and that was full retail. For over 60k miles and no warranty private sale, I would only offer low 30s max.

If it's an 05.5, then it should have balance of factory warranty until sometime in 09.

After much thought and talking to my buddy who's had a few S4's in his day, he strongly urged me to not even pay anything close to that price. I'm guessing, after some research, I'd offer somewhere around 30K since it has no CPO and it has a ton of miles. I'm a bit worried that is has no warranty and knowing Murphy's Law, I'll be hit with a super huge repair bill for whatever

I saw a silver 06 S4 MT6 with black interior, BBS, carbon fiber, nav, heated seats, 49K miles / no CPO on eBay for $30K about three weeks ago - just before I bought my '05. If you can be patient you will find a much better deal than what you're looking at.

just bought that exact car pretty much with 39k on it for 29500 through carmax, loving it, but yea, look around and ya should def be able to find a better deal than that
