Would this be a Suspension setup for $300?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I talked to the guy and he said he wants $300 plus shipping. Do you guys think its worth that? How much of a drop do you think it would be? Heres the description from the ad.

This is for a used set of four bilstein struts and h&rr springs from an 02 audi s4. They are in good working condition. I dont know what the spring rate is on the springs but the car they came off of had a great stance. There are no leaks on these struts. I believe these will fit 00-02 s4 and 00-01 a6.

Yeah thats a pretty fair price considering that setup is 600ish new

Do some reading about the H&R/Bilstein setup though, make sure you're ok with the big drop. Some also have complained about it feeling "floaty" on the highway while others have not had any problem.

Not saying you shouldn't jump on the deal, just wanted to make sure you had done some research on those-

vogtland/koni seem to be the preferred choice when it comes to spring/shock combos. I loved mine and the drop was perfectly even (2finger gap font/back).

I sold my Grooved Bilsteins with ABT springs for $300 + shipping so it sounds fair.

Re: Would this be a Suspension setup for $300?

I bought a set of brand new grooved bilstein shocks few monthsssss back cost me like $550. So $300 with springs is a great deal giving that is still in good condiction.

Where could you find them for $600 new? I think 600 would only get you the shocks.

check the part number on the springs. If they are the H&R race springs that's the exact set up I have. I bought them all used for $275 (a great deal I thought), and I love them. The car is pretty low but very comfortable I think. Just need to pay a lot more attention to the condition of the road in front of you.

I'd be down to help you with the install too, so just let me know. We got mine and a buddies done in 5 hours.

Re: Would this be a Suspension setup for $300?

yeah I'm definitely down to help. We had access to a lift which made things 100 times easier. Maybe we can use Jeremy's shop one night to get it done.

problem is I'm pretty booked for the next few weekends. This would have to go on some weekday night if you wanted to do it before July...
