I never realized how similar installing piggies are to a rugby match.

    Re: rs4 clutch done!!piggies done!!

Good to hear its all worth it. Im in the middle of doing the same thing...im just taking longer to do it lol. Im not in any rush so ive just been working on it a little bit here and there. Me and a friend dropped the trans today. It only took a few hours but i had basically everything off of it already. I did the piggies a couple weeks ago and cant wait to see how they perform and sound. Im basically stock so i doubt itll add much performance, but im hoping itll sound a little meaner.

What are your mods? Let me know how well it all performs once you get the clutch broken in.

i have apr v5.0 but i am on a stock program to break in the clutch. borla cat back 710n`s are it.. i did have noticeable gains even on a stock program, you can hear the turbos spool up much better but overall not much louder.

    Re: rs4 clutch done!!piggies done!!

I’m also about to do my clutch in 2 weeks, I do hope you can do a write up before then, so I can have some kind of guide line to work with. I just ordered a light weight flywheel with the RS4 clutch kit; I added the upgraded disc for $50 more from vast. I’m also doing my valve cover gaskets, in all I spent $1300 for parts. I ordered some tools for the job, I would love to do the piggies, but I can’t weld & I don’t know of any shops that weld, though I’m sure there out there. I would have loved to see some pics of your install. I too will be on my back using jack stands.
How heavy is the tranny? Do I need another person or can I bring it down myself.
Did you buy new axle to hub bolts as these things “can’t be reused”?
What was the hardest part of the install?
Did you torque everything down to spec.? If you did where did you get the specs?
Sorry for all the Q’s, but I’m ready to do this job & I wanted to see if I can get a heads up on any problems to come. Thanks

If you pickup one of these you can drop it alone with no issues:

Harbor Freight sells it for $60. I've used mine twice but, it's nice to have when you need it.
