    Greddy Profec B Spec II

So, I read this: http://forums.evolutionm.net/archive...p/t-75594.html, which was very helpful. I learned how to set the device and learned how to tune it.

Here is my setup: Carbonio, 007 Forge, ATP manifold, K04, J31, 317cc injectors, afpr, Racetec fmic (soon to be shipped). All of this will be installed within 2 weeks.
    Here is my question though:

Since the Greddy Profec B Spec II ebc has two settings (low/high), what should my low and high settings be with the above mentioned set-up?

I know it varies with climate. The climate in VT is mid/low 80's during the summer, freezing ass cold during winters.

GIAC j-31 calls for 28psi of boost for the J-31 on high. Can I max it out to that setting? Should I have my low setting be at 18?

Im a super noob at EBC's and need to be educated on this. Any help would be appreciated.

The J31 calls for 28psi but most people say it runs the best at 25psi. You could set the low boost at 18-20 and play around with the high boost between 25-28 to see what you like best. Just remember the higher the boost you run the quicker the turbo will start to taper off and the lower your peak tq/hp will be in the rpms.

Thats what I was looking for. Thank you very much Mike. Is there anything else I will need to know when installing the ebc?

and what the does this mean..I got confused when I read that....
Tune the "Lo" and "Hi" settings corresponding to having the boost maximized during the low gears and during the high gears. This would require you to manually hit the button to switch to the "Hi" setting when you shift to third gear or whatever you started tuning your "Hi" setting at.

Just a guess but some people cant run full boost off the line or theyll spin through the tires, so they have to hit the high boost setting in 3rd when they can get traction, shouldnt matter for you

Correct, it is usually an option for FWD cars that need to run a much lower boost in 1st-2nd gear.

    Re: Free Candy!!!!

A friend of mine is running the same EBC on his 1.8t, and he used hi/lo settings for the type of driving he was doing. The problem with the set-up is if your driving it hard, you want to set your start boost low ( his is set at 4 ) but when doing normal driving, if you hit 4psi its almost instantaniously at full boost even at half throttle. The beauty of the hi/lo is you can run similar boost on both settings, but just adjust your start boost so if your cruising through town, you can still run 23psi, but make your start boost around 9 or 10, so you keep your drivability.

Yeah, its fine. The J-31 is the most aggressive file GIAC makes for the B5's.

Yes the K04 will make 28psi but it wont hold it for very long. Running that much boost on the K04 just produces max tq, doesn't really do much for hp since even at 22-25psi the K04 will hit the same peak hp but just at a different rpm.

It really depends on what turbo and the hp that you are making with that turbo. You might be limited to 25psi on the 2871r because it puts the peak hp near what the stock rods can handle. A K04 at 28psi is no where near that same peak hp.

took me about 10-15 2nd or 3rd gear runs to get my Profec decently dialed in

317ssayzarc: Can you give me info of your 10 to 15 runs: Were you boosting close to stock or something from the start, but it would build and build each run? Leveling and consistently hitting the same psi after? I am just gauging what your experience was... just reset my Profec... didn't get enough runs in tonight.
