    Unhappy Problems

I read the common problem thread posted by 4flow (very good). It appears that i have a majority of the problems listed. My check engine light is on but I hooked up the code reader from autozone and I am getting codes for missfire on all 4 cylinders and a low vacume pressure code. I checked my DV because it feels like I have lost pressure but it appears to be ok. I have cleaned out my PCV and checked all my hoses and electrical plugs. The engine continues to idle rough fluctuating between 1200 and 750 rpms and the elbow of the down pipe is turning red from heat.

The car is chipped stage 1 APR and had the forge non adjustable blowoff valve. Any ideas on what I should look at next? I would bring it to the dealer but am afraid they may void my warranty.

    Thanks

    Re: Problems

First off, you need a Forge diverter valve, not a blow off one, A4's are running on a closed system that needs to recirculate the air flow. Get that blow off valve switched.

    Re: Problems

your best bet is taking your car to the dealer and make a stop at the tuner shop to get reflashed stock...

i dont think your blow off value is causing the misfires, but like suggested replace that bov with a standard forge dv.

Flash it back after the dealer fixes it?

I have already removed the BOV. Has stock DV in place.

After hearing how SCARED everyone is about their dealer, I feel so blessed having such and awesome dealership with a Motorsports division.

    Re: Problems

I think you guys are over reacting about the BOV thing. It's designed for A4 2.0t's by forge. It doesn't change how the stock DV behaves. Forge just decided to call it a "BOV" but in reality, everything is still controlled by the OEM DV.

    Re: Problems

This just a wild shot here but isn't there something around here about some people having problems with their coil packs? Thats one of the things that comes to mind when some one talks about misfires. Might not hurt to check for the excessive wear issue with fuel pump.

    Re: Problems

right. Vacuum pressure issues, chipped, aftermarket BOV. Check your dv to see if the diaphram is torn. That hose that's red hot could be compromised. Is the dv & bov installed properly? A coil pack would only misfire in one cylinder

Took the DV off yesterday. The diaphram is intact. Does that unit come apart as when I pulled it out it separated where you can see the spring. I put it back together. No change.

    Everything is installed properly.

What is the proper procedure for checking the coil pack? I am researching this now but any advice would be great.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Re: Problems

Actually Mr Tiesto I am a former Audi owner and the vehicle that Datalis is driving is my leased A4 that I transferred over to him. Datalis and I are roommates and I was screwing around with him so cool down bud, everything is going to be ok.
