The cam lock bar holds the timing in the heads so everything doesnt become mashed potatoes when you put it back

unfortunately finding a cam lock bar on memorial day weekend isn't as easy as it sounds. we arrived at the VW dealership about 4 minutes too late, which would have allowed us to borrow this tool. since then we have been searching the forums, various auto place and the new jersey neighborhoods.

Haha, thanks man.. it's a PITA to keep it clean in my neighborhood with all the damn pollen producing trees. It's even cleaner now since I got e-codes and front bumper sort-of fixed..

Yeah we saw that one. Unfortunately we needed the part that day, so we made one ourself, which works just as well.

As for the future...I am calling Borg Warner in the morning to see if they warranty any of this. If not, I may just buy a new chra and have Blouche fix it. In the meantime, Clint and I have been pricing out a new setup.

As for the turbo, I am really unsure what or when it happened, by the looks of it. The turbo ate some debris.

hahahah we were pulling the motor and one of the bolts fell of the wrench and never hit the ground.


we have yet to find it by the way...and there isn't much on the engine anymore.

anyway, derek, clint and I did a little brainstorming this weekend and Dereks possible future setup will be jaw-dropping.

Look at piecing together some RS4 parts,(if you get one you'll have to get the rest) Intake, Throttle body, fuelrail, TBB pipe. maybe 2.8 heads. Also, since you have the motor apart, do some extra work to it. PnP, replace all the gaskets, and seals, heat wrap a few things, Maybe get some cams in there. free up some of that air flow huh?]

Pair up everything above with RS6 turbos and have some fun smoking everything!!
