    RS4 swaybar installed

First off, their is no way that stock "clip" is made for this bar. I made it work (like others) but if I had to do over I would
(and still might) get the right ones. I'm sure the RS4 "clips" must be a little deeper.

Worth the $100 bucks for those who are picky about their handling but for those who don't know what under steer is, you could pass on this mod. This bar really cleaned up the under steer. Now I can't wait for the CO to come in.

here is a pic, doesn't really do the size difference justice, I wasn't impressed till I saw the puny stocker.

where did you get your bar from? My dealer gives the right "clip" to go along with it! I think ECS does too.

ECS only gave me bushings. Did I get screwed

I ended up buying them from the dealership.

I got mine from a local VDub mechanic I just ordered the bar and busing based on what I read on here thinking the clips might be unnecessary.

I guess it depends on what you get. I think the OEM ones should kinda fit but any bigger then 22mm i believe they come with it! If not contact Carousel Audi in MN cuz they sell H&R bars with the clips.

The bar and the bushing is all you need. I had mine installed at Matrix and thats all they needed to complete the install.

It is a great little mod IMHO. Well worth the cost.

    Re: RS4 swaybar installed

ECS only ships it with bushings. Fitting them to the clamps that come with OEM sport suspension's SB is a real test to your determination and skills.

It does change the handling for good!

Whatever, what's a few bucks extra? I've spent more money than I care to remember anyways.

    Definitely worth the $$$$$$

Key wording in your post is "had mine installed" if you had done it yourself you would want the right clips. You don't "need" RS4 clips but assuming that they are a slightly bigger you will "want" the RS4 clips.

People keep saying how you don't need them but I want those that are doing the install them selves to have an easier time than I did.

    Re: RS4 swaybar installed

You should get the right bushings and everything with the sway bar. Which should be no more than 145$

    Re: RS4 swaybar installed

I did it myself and it was a pain in the ass. I bought everything from the dealer..sway bar and bushings. For a moment there I was about to just give up and put the stock ones back on. If I had to do it over, I would get the clamps if it makes the install easier

    Re: RS4 swaybar installed

Get the RS4 clips, yes... you can install it without them... but the stock clips squeeze the hell out of the RS4 bushings. Much better in the long run if you end up getting the RS4 clips. I had the same problem

    Re: RS4 swaybar installed

It depends on how you order the parts. Since they are factory parts they are not in a kit. If you get them from an after market retail outlet they typically create a "kit" for the swap.

the part # are in the forum FAQ located here:

    Re: RS4 swaybar installed

i installed the rear sway this morning without the rs4 clips and it was a pain in the asss. it became so much easier when i decided to press the clip over the bushings with extra lithium grease and channel lock pliers. like others said, get the top bolt in first just enough so it wouldn't slip out. next, using the pliers again, guide the lower bracket in so the lower bolt can guided in easily. after that, you are home free, tighten all the bolts and enjoy.

the car feels much better now taking hard turns. the hype is real. if you don't have the upgraded sway, order one now! (if you like to drive spiritedly).

i didn't like my koni coilovers before the sway, but the combination i have now is pretty satisfying. however, im still planning on swapping them for vogtland gts though since i already ordered them and they are on the way
