    Opinons on USPS losing package

Alright guys, i just want to hear what other's opinons are on lost packages from USPS. Apparently one of my packages was "delievered" according to USPS delivery confirmation to a member on here, but they said they never received it. Im kinda stuck in a jam now, since the buyer dont have one of his S4 calipers and im not sure how we are going to arrange refund.... since its neither of our faults. Buyer did not specify for insurance on shipment so thats why i did delivery confirmation. I originally thought i put insurance on it for him just out of the goodness of my heart but i guess i didnt process the online shipping label right... Either way, how would you guys go about doing this transaction... never had this happen before.. been using USPS for the fuel injectors for over a year with delivery confirmation and had no problems.

HI! I'd refund him 1/2 of the purchase price as a good faith move. I'd also suggest that you include insurance in your' shipping costs on all future shipments. Getting anything out of the USPS once they say it's been delivered is virtually impossible. I've had much better luck with UPS/FEDEX. Sorry to hear that USPS "Gotcha" too.

    Regards, Dean

If it shows delivered you aren't responsible for USPS losing the package. Insurance wouldn't cover anything since it is showing delivered. The buyer should check at their neighbors' houses and also talk to their mail carrier to find out where they might have delivered the package.

From a business standpoint, it is a sellers responsibility to ensure that the product arrives in his/hers customers hands. Wouldn't you be pissed if some online vendor decided to send you a package, you never got/received, and the vendor just said you're SOL? I'd be pissed, but understanding that you aren't an online vendor or a store, it would only be fair to incur the responsibility of the whole/half of cost, or just simply just resending him the same part, and hope that the original pops up somewhere from the return address. All part of doing business...shizzle happens, and you have to man up.

UPS / Fedex / DHL if they loose package they will try to locate it for you. If they can't then they will do insurance refund. From my experience I only send stuff via USPS if it won't affect me much if gets lost or destroyed and i always use insurance, because as they say in lottery, you never know.

always use insurance; it then requires usps to have a signature for the package.

Hard call if it says delivered i'd have him check his neighbors maybe the delivered to wrong house.

No worries guys, I am the one who purchased from manguyen....the package was misdelivered, and FORTUNATELY the post office was nice enough to take the time to find it and make sure it got back to me, i got it back today.

    so all is well!

That's essentially how Winston dealt with my lost Podi + gauge. He manned up, no fuss, and I'll forevermore give him mad props whenever possible. Not to mention purchase through him again. And the VEI isn't even here yet (though the Podi is).

So my moral is that you may take a hit now but recoup it later.

And yes, include insurance into the costs from now on just to be prudent.

i rode them for 3 days....fortunately they were nice and for the most part helpful, although at times it seemed quite to the contrary.....

This just happend to me last week. It was an Ebay item from Hong Kong and I was sure the sender screwed up my address. I started a Paypal dispute and everything, finally went down to the post office and they had it somewhere in the back. I never had problems with USPS before. They're still the fastest and cheapest route to ship things though. I hate UPS with a passion.
