    Alignment Gone Wrong :/

3 days ago i installed the 2002 sport suspension and RS4 wheels, both of which i bought from fellow Audiziners (pics to come) and today i went for my alignment.

The shop was supposed to be good since my brother got his alignment there and he was pleased, but of course didn't go too well for me.

The guy working on my car was some older bold dude that kept getting pissed off and kept talking to him self. He had to take off my rear right wheel to get to the camber bolt and as he was taking of the plastic caps off the screws, scratched the new wheels ! the scratch is barely noticeable cause its in one of the bolt holes but still...it's there and it pisses me off.

But now to the actual alignment process. He aligned the rear with no problem...so to speak, but the front he wasn't able to finish. He was working on getting the Toe aligned and he was able to get the right front to +.20 but said he can't get the left aligned because the inner endlink bolt, that adjusts the Toe has seized and he can't get the bolt loose.

So now my right toe is +.20 and my left is -.15. Its a big difference and i only paid him for getting the rear done since i was already pissed for the wheel.

anyone have problems like this? and how can i get the bolt loose? He said he can get it loose with a torch but that he would probably damage the seals.

Had the same problem, on the rear bolts, but if the guy doing the alignment is competent and has the right tools, it should only be a matter of extra time. Get the front done again, at a different place.

    Re: Alignment Gone Wrong :/

Whenever I need an alignment I just go to the audi dealer. May be a tad mor expensive, but I trust them for alignments and the one near me is pretty mod friendly.

How much does the dealer charge for an alignment? I might just go and get that done as a last resort

I wasn't going to, but since the scratch is only in the lug hole and isn't THAT noticeable i let it go. BTW i paid him $30 bucks, so it wasn't that tragic.....just a waste of time basically

Sorry to hear, man. My local dealer is actually the cheapest place to get an alignment around here. $100.

Should have thrown the stockers (older wheels) to do the alignment

Doesnt the heavier and larger wheel effect the camber tho?

and the scratch is about 1 cm long, i'm not gonna call the cops for that lol and the only thing they could've done is buy me a new wheel, and i wouldn't trust them to do that. Unless they reimburse me in cash.

    No.

And just because you have larger RIMS now...the actual rolling diamater of the TIRE should be the same (or VERY close to stock)
