so ive allowed the dog hair in the back to get out of control [O_O] i cant seem to get it out with anything. my dog has short white hair so its easily seen. i have a rubber mat down so it doesnt get on the floor too much, but on the carpeted sides it embedded and nothing seems to work. any ideas on removing short dog hair from the short carpet on the sides of the cargo area of an avant?

Fabric softener works 50/50 to water.

What i do is first vacuum the area. I then use lint rollers to get loose dog hair not picked up by the vac. For the hard to get embedded hair, i lightly mist the carpet with the woolite/water 50/50 mix. Wear rubber gloves, then rub the carpet with your rubber glove and gather the hair you collect.

Just rub it off with your hand.

I've used those yellow dish washing gloves to remove cat hair from sofas. They might work well for your situation too. Just put one on and drag it across the carpet.

    They're only like $.99 a pair; worth a shot.

A hair brush with bristles like this

did the trick for me, after that, its picking them out by hand, one by one, by one, by one.....

you can't go wrong with the infamous duct tape...but that can leave a sticky residue...try a lint roller, or lint brush...speaking of dog hair...I have a car im doing tomorrow, FULL of dog hair...its pretty gross actually...we'll see how it goes though!

X2 on the duct tape. We have two Siberian Huskys. That plus my wifes cloth seats= fun with tape. I haven't had any problems with residue. Not in the hippie hybrid or the leather in my S4 and previous VAG mobiles.

This method worked the best for me. I found that if you spray water/fabric softener, the hair wouldn't bunch up...so I tried the gloves. Worked wonderes! I just did an X5...it was covered!
