My 2004 A6 !! The wait is over...

Hi Everyone,
This is my first time posting on here. I just picked up my baby 2004 A6 2.7 38,000 miles. Dolphin Grey, Platinum interior. 4 days after I got my baby, I had my dad take it to Audi. Some really bad driver rear ended him getting off the highway. NJ drivers are horrible. Didn't even drive it for 2 days. Body shop has it for 2 weeks. The car is incredible. Once I figure how to post pictures I'll load them up. I’m trying to figure out how to replace the fog lights, with mesh RS6 style ones. Does anyone have any advice? Going to get full tint 35% charcoal grey, once I get it back. If anyone from south Jersey can recommend a place, (that will not leave a gap), I would gladly appreciate it.

Mods to come Roof spoiler, Full RS6 mesh grill kit; and APT computer upgrade.

hi, welcome to Audi and Audizine. Nice choice, I ahve an 04 2.7T also.
But man you should have bought a blue one, everyone knows they are quicker, with a special ECU making an extra 50hp and overboost button! :) J/K

Yeah get it chipped and it'll be like driving a brand new car. but I would stick APR or GIAC if i were you.

Glad to hear another 2.7T A6 owner and I'm sure you will be happy with the torque... I was thinking to trade my Allroad for a 3.2 A6 and nonetheless, I just don't want to spend the money extra for a slower car in compare my AR has been chipped by Revo with all hardware mods done to achieve a bit more than 300HP. However, the killer is the torque that kill lots of supercars on highway for our responsiveness on sudden take off...

You wouldn't believe me if I tell you. but, I will Ready....lol $16,600 2004 Audi a6 2.7 auto, Bose system, auto dimming mirrors, (which is such a nice option to have, coming from a 2000 TL, where only the rearview tints), winter package new tires, brakes and 3yr extended warranty. Still under Audi warranty until July 08. Bought it from VW dealership. Can I ask what you paid?

bad choice, 2.7t's breakdown every fucking day :( i know, mines been to the shop about 17-20 times in 6 months, and i need to go back tomorrow problems problems problems, but when its running its fun! sorry to be a debbie downer , but every morning i wake up and ask myself "wtf is going to break on my car today" gets to be a pain in the ass, and the car has low miles and taken care of very well. Good Luck, start saving.

Ok nevermind Frank I think you have my twin car! All I have to say is thank the lord baby Jesus for warranties otherwise I would be out near 10k by now in work! But I love this freakin car.....

2.7T's are like strippers.... You know you probably shouldn't but you do anyways because they are so sexy, and its great while you are ridin em but afterwards your wake up all covered in glitter and smelling like baby wipes saying "where the hell did all my money go?"
I've seen it a hundred times.......

I feel your pain Frank, when these cars break, they break hard lol. I just got my torque converter changed at 45k miles and I baby the car. Before that they changed a wheel bearing, fixed another tranny oil leak, now my xenon bulb is out and they tried telling me $400 for that, but anyway it's a fun car to drive.

Not what I was hoping to hear on here. I pray that mine is going to be good. Glad I picked up an extended warranty. Sorry to hear about the problems you guys are going through. Maybe your cars will run good for a good while. They are such nice cars its a shame to here such things.
Hopefully I should be getting my car back Friday.

don't be discouraged, some have over 100k miles and have not done anything but maintenance and wear parts...
Take care of it to minimize expenses. Not all A6s are a $$ pit but they are more expensive than average to maintain/own

Thanks Gigi good to hear. I probably wont even be driving more than 6,000 miles a year. Going to stay on top of it too. Love it to death so far.

They just have really bad cooling problems, which lead to big shit, other than that, the cars good.

I guess, I am lucky because I have had no problems at all in two years of ownership although I have a CPO so I'm covered. I love my 6er!!!

wow.. awesome deal.. i paid 17,400.00 and total about 19Gs after all said and done.. but that was last year Oct'2007..

It took some work to find my A6. Been looking since Dec 07. I found a White on Black. (hot!) back in Dec, but couldn't make it work. I came across my car around April 08. It was listed at 23,900[O_O][O_O] haha. It was on their lot for 2 months. Long story short, they lowered the price throughout the 2 months to 18,800. I was able to get it for 16,800 and traded in my 2000 Acura TL. I drove it home to find that the windshield was leaking air, the seat motor went dead, The ESP light came on, and it was leaking Oil.. I wanted to buy a CPO but wasn't able to. So no worries right, still under Audi warranty. Audi addressed those problems minus windshield. The service manager had the balls to say that my A6 would be sold as a CPO at any Audi dealership !! That was after I brought it back to them to find the leak. Are you serious?? I lot it on him. That is a ridiculous thin to say. Never purchase from Shrewsbury VW in New Jersey is the purpose of the story. Horrible service. I'm hoping all the bugs are cleaned out now.
