Hi guys, I have a question..anyone on here know if the clear license plate covers are illegal or not in MA? I can't find it on google or the DMV. I've seen them around on some cars, both tinted and the clear kinds. My plates are only a few months old but the front one is already getting bent up

imo, they would handle it like tint. if they want to write you up for it, they can but if they don't, they won't.

I have a clear cover on my front plate. Had no issues. I don't think there is anything in the legislation about clear covers. The law only states that nothing on the plate can be obstructed. Tinted covers may be an issue, since one could interpret this as an "obstruction"
