Thumbs up Nice day with the Audi

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Took the car to the dealership this morning to have the 35k mi service done and PCV repaired. Here's some observations...

    1) I put it back to the APR stock file for the first time since I got the car. The difference is massive and made me appreciate the APR93 file all over again. If you don't have your car chipped yet, DO IT!!!

    2) It was my first service and warranty work on the car (I've had it for a month an a half) and I was relieved that the dealership didn't raise any "mod issues" during warranty work.

    3) I got an 07 A4 2.0T Avant as a service loaner which made me appreciate having an s-line with MT and coils...totally different car. Aside from the chip, suspension is the other must (switching springs only doesn't count).

    4) Gave the loaner to my fiance for the day. She drives a Volvo V50 (wagon) but now she wants an Avant.

I picked up the car this afternoon and I'm happy to have it back to the APR93 file. The car is now running smooth and I'm looking forward to that 25+ MPG fuel efficiency. Me likie this car.

I got a question, when you get flashed by the dealer, do you have to pay for the chip again?

Some dealers charge you for labor so ask around for one that does not or one that charges you less.

Re: Nice day with the Audi

Funny. I took mine in for the 5k service yesterday. Lately I've been thinking to myself, "Self, I wonder if this chip is working right? It just doesn't seem as fast as that first week."

Well, I put it in stock mode and proceed to the dealer with my 4 yo boy. Let me just say, the chip has been working fine! It's funny to read your post because I felt the same way yesterday. Needless to say I went back to mode 2 when I got in the parking lot! The ride home was much better.

As a side note, how come all dealers don't have loaners? When we had the All Road we took it to this dealer and it's the closest one(About 25 miles away). My boy and I had to walk someplace for lunch and hang out for a while. They'll give you a ride but no loaners.

Re: Nice day with the Audi

LAS: I showed her a pic of the B8 this morning and she's...SOLD! I guess I have to order two B8s now...

Ice: No, but the PO did get reflashed at the dealer the last time he took it in. I got the car with APR deactivated and had to get it uploaded again.

Jay: As rayish said, some will charge but others won't. I wasn't charged when I took mine in and I didn't even buy the APR file, the PO did.

Malamute: We all get used to the power and start craving more after a while. It's happened to me with every car I've owned, including some 400HP cars. It's nice to remind ourselves that we could have it worst.
