    ABS and E brake warning

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I was driving about 60m mph about 10 minutes ago and all of a sudden I hear a beep and look down at my dash and the ABS and E brake light is alternating on with a beep. I slowed down to take a left off the highway and it went away. If it helps my CEL has been going on and off for awhile. It will stay on for a few days then go off for a few days. Could it be related?

What does this mean? Is it serious?

    ABS module.

It'll come off and on for a while, till it just stays on. Mine has been on for about 2 months, and I don't have ABS. I need to get around to sending the module out to get repaired...

Re: ABS and E brake warning

Curious, but will a failed ABS pump throw a fault code?

I know that in the Passat realm, the 00-01 model Passats have a common issue with the ABS unit, but their tach no longer works and there are a few other lights on the dash that illuminate. My ABS light stays lit and the brake light blinks, but my other cluster lights and gauges still work fine, but I do not get a code when I scan with my Vag-Com. Is it possible that one of the sensors at the wheel popped out and thats causing the ABS light to come on?
