    ABS control module

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
ABS and brake light come on once in a while with a beep.
It doesn't stay on, it goes off after a while, but I'm wondering if this is the infamous B5, C5 ABS module problem.
If it is, how hard is it to replace one?
Do you have to bleed whole brakes after the job's done?
And where can you get one with good price?

    this may help ~ http://www.audiworld.com/tech/wheel55.shtml

lotsa vendors have the modules for $500 +/-
or you can pay modulemasters.com $200 to fix your current one (mail back/fourth)

    Re: ABS control module

    how does this sound?
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUDI-...spagenameZWDVW
they rebuild the ABS electronic module.
it says send the computer only not the whole pump.
will it fix the problem with ABS light?
it says there is no need removing the pump unless it's leaking

btw, that's a big help, thank you, oc-drop

    Re: ABS control module

that's the same process as modulemaster (repairing the module) ~ appearently there is a soldering point that comes loose.

to be sure that's what you need to do, you will have to hook the car up to a vag-com and see if it can connect to the abs module.. if you cannot connect, that verifies that the module is faulty.

    Re: ABS control module

so if it is the problem, is that something you can solder by yourself?

    Re: ABS control module

i remember there are instructions out there for the fix... but it's not an easy job, you can render the module useless in seconds; but i don't remember where i saw them
