For the past couple of months I have been getting this code:
16712 P0328
Knock Sensor (KS) 1 -G61: High Input (sporadic)
I have also seen the corresponding code for the other knock sensor pop up.
What is happening is my timing correction factors on block 020 will occasionally show 8.2 degrees on all four cylinders. This happens randomly, typically while driving on the highway. The correction is ALWAYS 8.2deg, ALWAYS on all four cylinders at the same time, and it ALWAYS jumps from 0 to 8.2 with no gradient in between.
This happens on both "stock" software and 91 octane software.
The car has been in the shop I don't know how many times recently and the opinion is that everything is mechanically sound. The car will run fine at WOT and the logs look good.
What has been done:
- Both knock sensors replaced / properly torqued
- Timing belt repaired (tensioner was almost cracked due to work from my previous shop)
- Cam tensioner checked, looked good
- ECU chip (APR 3+ is soldered in) connections checked, software re-flashed
- New plugs (NGK BKR7E gapped 0.032), new air filter
- A few typical leaks repaired (water pump, coolant flange), not really related
This problem is really starting to drive me (and my shop) crazy. I would appreciate any kind of input as to what else we can look at next.

The car is a 2002 APR 3+, AWE FMIC, APR exhaust, Hitachi E coils, running Chevron 92 octane gas on 91 octane software.
